Highlights of the Carrier Energy Experts Program for Charleston Residents

June 22, 2012

Berkeley Heating & Air Conditioning recommends energy audits as the best way to save money. We are one of several HVAC companies that have knowledge of the Carrier Corporation’s new 360 degree whole home energy audit. As the leading manufacturer in the heating and cooling industry, Carrier monitors consumer trends and responds with products and services to meet their needs.

Most HVAC companies offer some type of energy audit, but not all of them have been trained on the specific six-step process by Carrier. If you have called other HVAC companies only to be disappointed with the services offered, we welcome you to contact Berkeley Heating & Air Conditioning for a truly professional home energy audit. The Carrier energy audit is divided into six phases that occur over a period of several days.

Inspection, testing and analysis make up the first part of your home energy audit. This will take between three and four hours to complete. To get the process started, our service technician will ask to see copies of your utility bills over the past 12 months. This is helpful in determining your typical pattern of energy use. Next, he or she will test and analyze your air conditioner, heat pump, furnace, insulation, air ducts and water heaters. The purpose of this is to see how well each piece of equipment is currently performing.

After taking a few days to review the results, our service technician will return to your Charleston home to complete the recommendations, resolution and results phase of your home energy audit. As one of the leading HVAC companies in the area, Berkeley Heating & Air Conditioning will provide you with a detailed list of recommended changes as well as products or services that can help you achieve greater energy efficiency.
