Our heater failed on a Friday with Christmas the following Wednesday. I spoke with Andrew at 4:15 pm Friday afternoon for a ballpark quote (had received a quote at 3:30 from the company that had diagnosed the problem). With temperatures in the 30’s by Tuesday and company scheduled for Christmas Day, I needed a new unit installed Monday or Tuesday. After confirming the size and type of unit that had been quoted by the other company appeared to be correct for my home, he checked and found that the unit was available to be shipped in from the manufacturer’s warehouse in Columbia on Monday and could be delivered on Tuesday and installed that morning. Andrew could not promise that we would have the unit Tuesday morning since it was being shipped by an independent carrier over which he had no direct control, but he did promise to do everything he could to contact the warehouse managers at both ends and keep everyone involved aware of the timing. The pricing was more competitive than my other quoted price. Andrew made a special trip to my home early Saturday morning to look at the existing unit and confirm that the new unit was appropriate and could be installed in place of my current unit. He also reviewed all of the specifics about the model and confirmed that the model I was getting had stainless steel heat exchanger coils and was an upgrade from the model quoted by the other company. He also said that he would schedule two teams to make sure that installation was completed as quickly as possible. Andrew called to confirm Monday morning that the order was placed, he confirmed later in the day that the unit was in transit, and called Tuesday morning to confirm that it was being picked up by his crew (Alvin and James) who would be at my house before 9. The installation went smoothly and I had heat by 11 am. Alvin answered all of my questions and set up the thermostat programming with me. A second crew came (as promised) while the main installation was occurring to measure for the shroud, went back to the shop to fabricate it, and then returned to finish up the job. I am very impressed by the customer service focus and professionalism of Berkeley Heating & Air Conditioning. I was especially impressed with Andrew who literally dropped everything to make this all happen to meet my schedule
